When the book OFFSIDE: Challenges Faced By Women In Hockey was first published in 2019, author Rhonda Leeman Taylor committed to donating a portion of proceeds from all sales to the Grindstone Award Foundation, an incredible group of volunteers that work together to get and keep girls playing the game we all love.
Specifically, the #GrindstoneAwardFoundation provides "opportunities to young female hockey players who have a desire to play, but are unable to for financial reasons."Since then, Team #OFFSIDE has stayed connected to this dedicated Canadian charity that has grown in leaps and bounds, and we were fortunate to have President Laura Oliver and Vice-President Jehan Jiwa to talk about goals, both on and off the ice, and grants, for both registration and equipment, which are now open for application.
